Reese’s baseball team played for ST and ND place last Tues night. They played so hard! We thought for sure we had the game. They lost by 1 point. 10-9. Reese also had the best coaches! Dad, Grandpa, and buddy Brent.  A big thanks to Robert and Lydia Hernandez for bringing their snow cone machine for snow cones after the big game. Another thanks to team mom, Suki Rees for decorating the dug out. Thanks to all! We will see you all again soon at state!

My new running partners

img_3218.jpgimg_3223.jpgimg_3225.jpg

About a month ago i decided to try and get my kids to run with me. I got Baylor, Reese and Avrie to go with me the first time. We don’t go to far, just around foot printers and back home. It is just a tad over 2 miles. The first time was hard on Av. She said, this is stupid! I am never doing this again! My head hurts, my legs hurt, my heart hurts. Are you trying to kill me? She was crying and I was pulling her by the hand. :) I’m sure as we passed the ballpark,  people thought I was being pretty mean. I didn’t think she would ever go with me again. So last night i changed it up a little and told her we would run down to Grandpas house. So she decided to go and did so good! I am so proud of her! Reese and Baylor do good and Reese never misses a chance to go running with me.

OH MY GOSH, CUTE!

My sister is getting ready for the arrival of her twins and I was checking out this way cute web site.  www.dimplesanddandelions.com/index.asp  You need to check out the cribs and the Chandeliers. soooo way cute! Where was this stuff when i was having babies?

Lost kitty.

img_3156.jpg

At our neighborhood dinner sat night the kids found a stray kitty and no one will claim him. Av talked me into keeping him until we find him a good home. Av will not have him go to the pound, so……. if anyone would like a very cute kitty please let me know. ASAP!

Big helper!!!!!!!!!

img_3142.jpgimg_3140.jpgimg_3138.jpgimg_3144.jpg

My dad had to go to girls camp last week and Reese volunteered to help Grandpa out with feeding the ducks, feeding the dog and watering the gardens. Reese is so responsible! If you need a job done, you can count on Reese! He is one of the most responsible 9 year olds I know. He always made sure to remind me that we had to go shut the ducks up every night so that the foxes wouldn’t eat them and then let them out every morning. All the ducks are safe and sound. Good job Reese!

Swim Time!

Fathers Day Feast

I tried two new recipes for steak and salmon on Fathers Day. They were both so yummy that I thought I would share.

Balsamic and Rosemary Grilled Salmon

4 (4ounce) Wild salmon fillets. ( costco is my favorite place to get this)
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 clove garlic, minced
1 sprig fresh rosemary, minced
sea salt to taste

Season salmon to taste with sea salt and place into a shallow glass dish. Whisk together vinegar, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and rosemary, pour over salmon, cover, and refrigerate at least 30 min.

Optional. I grilled the salmon on ceder wood planks. It gave it a yummy Smokey flavor, but you don’t have to use ceder planks. Just remember fish does not atke long to cook. You dont want to over cook it.

Rib Eye Steaks with a Soy & Ginger Marinade

1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup real maple syrup
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
1 teaspoon mustard power
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1/2 cup beer
4 (10 ounce) Steak house choice bone in rib eye steaks

In medium size mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, maple syrup, chopped garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, hot pepper sauce, and mix well. Now add beer and stir lightly to mix. Punch holes in steak with fork. Pour marinade over steaks, cover, and place in refrigerator for at least an hour or longer.
